EMD NW2 is a 1000-horsepower (750 kW) diesel-electric switcher
locomotive built by General Motors Electro-Motive Division between
February 1939 to December 1949. The EMD was fitted with a 567
two-stroke, 1000 hp V12 diesel engine. 1121 locomotives of this design
were built for US railroads and 24 were built for Canadian railroads.
